In recent weeks, news media in the United States have been turning to a soon to be published study by Daniel Scott, director of the Interdisciplinary Center on Climate Change at the Faculty of Environment, forecasting very tough times ahead for the North American ski industry.
From the New York Times story Climate Change Threatens Ski Industry, Leaving Slopes Bare, 12/12/2012
“Under certain warming scenarios, more than half of the 103 ski resorts in the Northeast will not be able to maintain a season length of 100 days by 2039, according to a study to be published next year by Daniel Scott, director of the Interdisciplinary Center on Climate Change at the University of Waterloo in Ontario.”
Scott has also been cited in similar stories in The Boston Globe, Hartford Courant, The Climate Daily and Scientific American.
