Is Toronto ready for climate change? ...Are Canadian Homeowners?
Intact Centre for Climate Adaptation Director Blair Feltmate spoke to CBC Radio and CBC Metro Morning about the risks of climate change and flooding in Toronto - and in particular it's effect on insurance and the housing market.
Then, an internal poll by Public Safety Canada revealed that 40% of Canadians believe the federal government will bail them out in the event of an overland flood. Not necessarily so, Feltmate told CBC News. Some homeowners may find themselves without the help they assumed would be available.
