Accomplishing what Kathleen Wynne's government has promised — to have all-day two-way GO service between Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo by 2024 — is doable according to local transit planning expert and School of Planning professor Jeff Casello. But he warns that the Liberals will need throw enough money at the project to get past any unforeseen snags.
Casello explains that there is no "technical reason, no physical reason why we can't have two-way all-day GO service by 2024." However, there was talk of building the Toronto-KW connection as far back as 2004, when Casello first came to Waterloo Region, and no implementation as of yet.
"It's time for the province to be serious about this connection," Casello told CBC Kitchener-Waterloo.
