In the media: Jennifer Lynes and Sarah Wolfe share four tips to reframe environmental messaging

ENV in the media iconDirector of the Environment and Business program, Jennifer Lynes and associate professor in the School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability, Sarah Wolfe collaborated on a commentary published in today's Globe and Mail. In the piece, Lynes and Wolfe call on businesses, startups, NGOs and policymakers to avoid the pitfalls that lead to ineffective communication about the important issues of climate change and sustainability.

Among their suggestions, the two professors say we should do away with traditional pro-environment messaging that only speaks to the converted and risks alienating the 80% of people who are potential "green" consumers. They also suggest forgoing scare-tactics that may actually detract people from making environmentally friendly choices.
