ENV in the Media LogoThe Waterloo Summit Centre for the Environment is open for the community.

Located near Huntsville’s main street in, the facility is the site for a wide range of activities including business training, environmental research and even weddings. Primarily a full-year research centre for ecology, tourism, land-use planning and local economic development, the centre is a “G8 legacy project,” one of the structures built for the gathering of G8 leaders in 2010. Built with millions of dollars in federal funding, the centre opened in its current capacity in 2011.

Robin Brushey, events manager for the University of Waterloo, said the vision for the building is for it to be an important part of the local community.
