The Faculty of Engineering’s Sedra Student Design Centre, in cooperation with Engineering Outreach (WE Connect) and the Waterloo Centre for Automotive Research (WatCAR) will be hosting the third annual High School EV Challenge on Saturday May 31, 2014.
The challenge will feature two races in the 12 and 24 volt classes and an Engineering Design Award competition. The Electric Vehicle Challenge gives high schools students a chance to display and race the electric vehicles that they have designed and built.
The race will be held at the Sedra Student Design Centre in Engineering 5, which is the home of many of the Engineering Faculty’s student teams, including the Formula Motorsports, Waterloo Hybrid, and Midnight Sun Solar Rayce Car teams. All competitors and visitors are welcome to join us.
Everyone is welcome to attend the race. Schools interested in starting a team should contact Peter Teertstra, Director of the Sedra Student Design Centre, for more information. We encourage schools that are thinking of starting a team to attend the event.
