This is a time to drop by EV1 317 to ask questions about the use of LEARN (version 10. 1). Two CTE Faculty liaisons will be available to answer your questions and help you determine the best way to organize your course content and set up learning activities.  If you are new to LEARN, consider taking a “Getting Started in LEARN” session before attending a drop-in. Please bring your own laptop to work on. There is no need to register for this session – first come, first served.

This session will be hands-on and there will be time allotted to address the specific questions of the participants.  Please bring your own laptop to this session.

Friday, September 6, 2013 — 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM EDT

During the first hour of this session, we will discuss the new LITE grants and go over the application and review processes.  During the remainder of the session, you will have the opportunity to ask questions about and receive feedback on LITE grant proposals you are (considering) submitting.

Thursday, September 5, 2013 — 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM EDT

This two hour hands-on workshop will introduce you to Desire2learn (D2L),  our course management system for presenting course activities and resources in on-campus and fully online courses. By the end of this session you will: be able to use the D2L environment to communicate with your students; make decisions around the most effective way to organize content in your course;  have basic knowledge of the tools available within D2L and the ability to use these tools effectively. Please bring your own laptop to this session.

Tuesday, September 3, 2013 — 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM EDT

On-line quizzes have many uses ranging from providing an
incentive to your students to prepare in advance for class to testing
students' understanding of course concepts throughout the term or on midterm and final exams. In this hands-on session we will explore the Quiz tool available in LEARN.

Participants will have the opportunity to create a quiz and explore the tool's grading options. Please bring your own laptop to this session.
