University of Waterloo Random Act of Kindness Day
The University of Waterloo, the Federation of Students and the Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation have partnered to offer the first-ever, campus-wide Random Act of Kindness Day! This event will inspire our campus to practice kindness and pass it on to others.
Waterloo this is our opportunity to demonstrate that our campus cares and contributes to our community and helps to strengthen the community-at-large.

Join us for an informative session on the Ontario-Baden-Württemberg Student Exchange. David Darby, Academic Director of the OBW through Ontario Universities International, will be joining us to inform, educate and advise students on the options available to them through this consortia of German Universities.
Interested in teaching English as a second language (ESL)? Certifications are varied and information is scattered but this workshop will provide clear information about the different levels of certification and which ones you will need to teach ESL abroad, in Canada and in Ontario.
Prepare for the optometry school admission interview (standard and MMI). Learn about the interview process, strategies to improve your performance and tips on how to handle common admission questions. A practice standard interview and MMI will be held within the workshop. The 2013 Jakob-und-Wilhelm-Grimm Lecture will be given by Harvard film scholar Eric Rentschler. Professor Rentschler, who will also be receiving an honorary doctorate from the University of Waterloo for his leading scholarship in film studies, will be speaking on the film The Lives of Others / Das Leben der Anderen, winner of the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2007.

M. NourbeSe Philip is an un-embedded poet, essayist, novelist, playwright and former lawyer who lives in the space-time of the City of Toronto. She is a Guggenheim Fellow (USA) and the recipient of many awards including the Casa de las Americas prize (Cuba).
Her most recent work, Zong!, is a genre-breaking poem, which engages with the law, history and memory as they relate to the transatlantic slave trade.
This year's Reading Series at St Jerome's is on the theme of Literartistry,
showcasing literature's dance with other artistic media.
