Dr. Michael Balogh (Dept. of Physics and Astronomy) will give an introductory lecture on the Perseids, and then we'll move to the Columbia Fields for stargazing after sunset.

The joint meeting of the The Association for Feminist Epistemologies, Methodologies, Metaphysics, and Science Studies (FEMMSS) and the Canadian Society for Women in Philosophy (CSWIP) will be held at the University of Waterloo on August 10 to 13, 2014.

Music that Changed the World Illustrated Music Lectures with Robert Harris
Join CBC radio host and producer Robert Harris for a series of three informative and entertaining musical lectures. Inspired by Harris' own 20-part "conversations" with Michael Enright on CBC Radio One's popular The Sunday Edition, these will definitely be insightful reflections and ruminations. Each lecture - sprinkled liberally with musical examples illustrating key points - will demonstrate the impact that the selected works have had upon our lives and our cultural history.
Peace Camp is a week-long day camp for youth aged 11-14, and is action-packed with exciting new activities, crafts, games, and field trips that will encourage youth to inspire lives, strengthen ties, and make peace happen all over the Waterloo region.
