You may have heard of GIS, but what exactly is it, and more importantly, how can you use it in your own research and academic work? This introductory workshop presents the basic concepts of GIS and will teach you the skills you need to find geospatial data, map it, and discover new dimensions of information.
By the end of the workshop, you will be able to
This information session will provide you with information about working on campus, off campus, and working on a co-op while studying in Canada. You will learn to assess your eligibility and the terms and conditions imposed by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). We will also cover the steps on how to obtain a Confirmation Letter from CIC in order to apply for a Social Insurance Number (SIN) if your study permit was issued prior to June 1, 2014.
The WIN Nano Graduate Student Seminar Series provides an opportunity for nanotechnology graduate students of WIN members to present and discuss their research, to help foster knowledge exchange and dialogue between researchers and across disciplines.
Every Tuesday, starting Sept 9th through until Nov 25th, from 12:30-1:30pm, in the QNC 1501 seminar room, two students will each give a 20 minute talk, followed by a 10 minute discussion on each presentation.
