Since then, focus has turned to questions of implementation. How can the Paris Agreement successfully be put into action at the global scale, in our country, and in our communities? Are current actions ‘good enough’ to get us to the goal of limiting global warming to less than 2 degrees Celsius by the end of the century?

Join us for a panel discussion on November 28th to hear reflections from policy experts and students who were at COP22 in Morocco earlier this month.

The animation will be on display at the Stratford Campus from 12:00 - 5:00 PM on weekends from September 10 - November 27.

The Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) has a free workshop on quantum mechanics and technology that will provide you with lesson plans and affordable, ready-to-go activities to take back to your classroom. November 25, 2016 to November 27, 2016 you will participate in hands-on activities, attend a few lectures and enjoy enrichment activities, as well as take part in round-table discussions on how to incorporate what you’ve learned into your curriculum.

The University of Waterloo Chamber Choir explores themes and music from across the ages, including works by Tomas Luis de Victoria, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Ola Gjeilo, and John Tavener. This twenty-five voice choir will transport you across the centuries. Directed by Dr. Mark Vuorinen, who also directs the Grand Philharmonic Choir.

Rethinking the boundaries of human beings and morality

Based on symbiosis and other ‘exotic’ biological examples, philosophers of biology have defined biological individuality beyond our common intuitions about individual organisms. I will explain why individual human beings should be understood as emergent multi-species individuals and how this should inform our views about morality and arguments concerning moral relativism.
