Peace Camp is a day camp and peace educational program for youth ages 11-14 in Waterloo Region. At Peace Camp, we:

  • Share stories and learn from people in our community
  • Meet people from various cultural backgrounds, faiths and orientations
  • Learn that peace is possible!

The annual Bridges Conference, will be hosted this year by the University of Waterloo Faculty of Mathematics.

This conference brings together an interdisciplinary group of mathematicians, scientists, artists, educators, musicians, writers, computer scientists, sculptors, dancers, weavers, model builders, weavers and many others in an atmosphere of mutual exchange and inspiration. 300 participants from six continents will gather in Waterloo.

Every Wednesday afternoon, we offer a dedicated writing space (with coffee, tea, and treats!) for faculty to write together. After the writing session you are welcome to stay to discuss writing goals, challenges and strategies with your colleagues.

Two-session workshop: attend the first session to find out what type of work might give you the greatest satisfaction, based on your personality preferences. Note: online completion of the Myers Briggs is required prior to the session (instructions will be e—mailed to registrants). Attend the optional follow-up session if you would like to further explore your preferences.

Yoga helps to improve various aspects of women’s wellness and bring balance to the mind and body through breath, postures and mindfulness. In the workplace, yoga assists with decreasing stress, tension and anxiety while improving energy, mood and productivity. 

This one-hour lunchtime session is suitable for all levels, including beginners, and will be limited to the first 50 people to arrive. Please bring your own yoga mat or contact us (mcdamphouse@uwaterloo.ca) if you will need one provided.

You will learn how to make sufficient time to study for all of your exams, how to minimize your stress around planning for exams and how to create your own organizational study plan.
