This three-day workshop covers an intense 17-hour curriculum designed to give beginners complete, basic programming skills to use in their studies or workplace. The workshop is organized by Women in Computer Science, a standing committee of the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science. It is intended for everyone who wants to learn basics of programming.

Join us as we celebrate the successes of the 2013-2018 Strategic Plan and begin a discussion about what comes next.

Waterloo's Centre for Theoretical Neuroscience invites everyone to an open house, the culmination of a two-week workshop that teaches researchers how to build sophisticated brain models. These international experts will demonstrate large-scale brain models running on laptops, robots, and specialized brain-like computers while simulating neural functions. Among the brain-like computers used at the summer school is Braindrop, a new mixed analog-digital neuromorphic chip developed in collaboration with Stanford and Yale.

The Quantum Valley Investments® Problem Pitch Competition invites teams of up to four students to choose an important industry problem, and thoroughly research it to understand its history, scope, and impact, before pitching the findings to a panel of judges on June 14. Teams will compete for a share of up to $15,000 in grant funding to go toward a venture dedicated to aiding the problem described.
