Venture Capitalist, TEDx Speaker, and BMath'79, Nooruddin (Rudy) Karsan, is coming to UWaterloo for an ASK ME ANYTHING Fireside chat with students.
Rudy is passionate about creating jobs that matter. He revolutionized the global human resource space over 25 years through the KENEXA organization. He grew it to become one of the world’s most significant HR firms valued at over a billion dollars, and IBM recently acquired KENEXA in a record deal. He has gone on to found Karlani Capital, an operating fund that aims to “enable the growth and success of ideas that are original, interesting and potentially useful to people.” Before his career in tech, Rudy studied Actuarial Science at UWaterloo, and was the youngest barred Actuary in Canada.
He knows the highs and lows of success and failure (both of which he has had a lot of) and gets his energy from working with fellow risk-takers who appreciate the exhilarating journey of entrepreneurship. In 2016, Rudy made a popular TEDX presentation about the future of work. Join us to hear Rudy's story about his career trajectory from actuarial science to venture capitalist and to engage him with your questions and comments.
Join us for food and the chance to ask Rudy anything about the future of work, the future of tech on a global scale, how to secure funding for your startup, risks and rewards, and so much more!
