Modern Hungers: Food and German Identity from the Third Reich to the Berlin Wall and Beyond
The Waterloo Centre for German Studies has established a First Book prize for promising scholars. The first recipient is Loyola University professor Alice Weinreb who won for Modern Hungers, called a “page turner” of a book by the prize jury. Come hear Prof. Weinreb explain how food and hunger have been used as instruments of power, both in Germany and in wider contexts.
