The Confucius Institute at the University of Waterloo will host a book and photo exhibition from May 30 to June 2 at Renison University College. TheChinese Book and Photo Exhibition to Commemorate the 70th Anniversary of World War II will showcase around 200 books and 100 photos that illustrate the heroic efforts of those involved in WWII.
On Saturday, May 30, there will be an opening ceremony and a public cultural exchange forum with scholars from China and Canada (10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Renison University College). Please RSVP to email@example.com if you'd like to attend the opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony will bring a number of distinguished guests to campus, including Mr. Peter Braid, Member of Parliament, Ms. Angela Vieth, Acting Mayor of Waterloo, Mr. Berry Vrbanovic, Mayor of Kitchener, Mr. Bing Xue, Consul General, People’s Republic of China, andMr. Shangzhi Wu, Deputy Director, State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People’s Republic of China.
The exhibit, open to the public, aims to highlight the 70th anniversary of the world’s victory over fascism, the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Canada over the last 45 years, and recent cultural exchanges between the two countries.
