Zhang Wang and an example of his artThe Confucius Institute offers an art exhibition featuring Artist Zhang Wang who combines traditional Chinese visual elements with modern artistic design to create his own unique style. 

This is also Confucius Institute Day.

Zhang Wang, born in 1976, is an associate professor in the Department of Art and Design, and director of the Digital Chinese Art Research Center at Nankai University. He is also a leading member of the Tianjin Artists’ Association in China. Many of his works are widely appreciated among the younger generation, and he has received various awards, both domestic and international. His work Classical and Fantasy--CG collections, among other extraordinary pieces, have recently been published, including paintings, sculptures, and a series of commemorative stamp designs for the National Post in China.

The Confucius Institute offers non-credit courses year round to all members of the community. We organize international conferences, trips to China for students, arts performances, and public events. Our events have included inviting scholars to give presentations on Chinese culture, history, literature, and business; hosting Chinese language competitions; and having Chinese movie nights!
