CAFCE presents the National Co-op Week Social Media Contest!
National Co-op Week, presented by the Canadian Association for Co-operative Education (CAFCE), is an annual celebration of the long history of co-operative education in Canada and the continuing growth and job development that is so crucial to all of Canada’s co-op programs.
FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an international program for high school students which was started in 1992 with 28 teams in a New Hampshire high-school gym and has grown in the last 20 years to include over 2,000 teams in landmark stadiums all competing and networking to make the FIRST Community even stronger.
On Friday, March 22nd, students from the Software Engineering Program at the University of Waterloo will present their design projects at the 4th Annual Design Project Symposium.
More than 70 students will present 20 design project prototypes that solve problems in the general areas of software including cloud computing, entertainment, music, robotics, security, sensors and devices, and user input.
On Friday, March 22nd, students from the University of Waterloo's Nanotechnology Engineering program will present their projects at the annual Waterloo Engineering Design Symposium.
Twenty-one project teams will present their prototypes, which include two unique approaches to water purification and a variety of products made from low-cost, flexible materials, such as a solar cell, glucose meter, and transparent display.
Senior Management Engineering students will showcase 12 designs spanning applied operations research and the design and management of information systems. The design projects provide innovative solutions to problems in the general areas of manufacturing, entertainment, health care, finance, project management, personal motivation, travel, and energy. Examples include a software application that helps users set and achieve goals, a predictive tool that helps companies lower their energy costs, and an automated trading program.
