The notion of the "flipped classroom" has been surfacing in teaching and learning listservs and publications for the last couple of years. The term refers to courses where the traditional components (lectures and homework) are reversed; that is, course content is delivered outside of class time (for example, via lectures delivered as podcasts or screencasts) leaving class time free for active learning activities (such as discussions, debates, demonstrations, and so on).
Two-session workshop: attend the fi rst session to learn about your personality type and preferences for learning and decision making. In the second session, discover how to apply your MBTI type to explore potential careers.
NOTE: There is a materials charge of $10.00 payable at the Centre for Career Action prior to the session. Once you have registered and paid, you will be given information on how to complete the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) online.
A screencast is a way of delivering key content to your students via a narrated video. A screencast differs from, and is more effective than, a videotaped lecture because a screencast focuses not on the presenter but rather on his or her material (such as PowerPoint slides, images, or other digital media). Screencasts can benefit students in two ways.
