5 day program (Sunday through Thursday)

We live in the midst of change: technological change, social change, political change, environmental change. In modern times humankind has experienced an unprecedented rapidity of change. How do we adapt, or not adapt... and what are the consequences? Students will consider the perspectives of scientists, engineers, writers, and philosophers, as they examine the dynamics of “Change”.

This two hour hands-on workshop will introduce you to Desire2learn (D2L)ePortfolio, a tool found within LEARN, our course management system.  LEARN’s ePortfolio allows you to store, organize, reflect on and share items that represent your learning.  You may include documents, graphics, audio files, videos, presentations, course work, etc. that demonstrate your improvement or mastery in a certain area.

a few of the most challenging areas of résumé writing for junior students.

NOTE: We do not have the facilities to print offŠ résumés at the start of

the workshop. There is a prerequisite for this workshop. Please see chart

Wednesday, May 15, 2013 — 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM EDT

This two hour hands-on workshop will introduce TAs to Desire2Learn (D2L), our course management system known as LEARN. By the end of this session TAs will: be able to use the D2L environment to communicate with students; have basic knowledge of the tools available within D2L (e.g., discussion forums, drop boxes, quizzes); enter grades. TAs should be enrolled in the course they will be working in with the appropriate permissions, and should know the sorts of tasks that they will be asked to complete in that course to make best use of their time in the session.

and résumé/CV, choose your references, and complete a sketch.

Strategies will be provided on how to best present yourself. Time will

be given in the workshop to get started on these areas so bring your
