The University of Waterloo will host a Ontario Benthos Biomonitoring Network training course in Huntsville, Ontario at the Waterloo Summit Centre for the Environment on May 28th to 30th, 2013.

The course will also be offered for a 2nd time on June 18-20, 2013.

The Ontario Benthos Biomonitoring Network (OBBN), which is coordinated by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority, is an aquatic macroinvertebrate biomonitoring network for Ontario's lakes, streams and wetlands.

Not a week goes by without pipelines making headlines - whether it's a new spill, an unexpectedly slow and expensive clean-up, or an ongoing controversy over new or proposed pipelines.   Using the Northern Gateway pipeline as a case study, we will learn the science of diluted bitumen (dilbit) and the potentially unique environmental challenges of dilbit spills.
