Come join Special Collections & Archives on Tuesday June 9th as we celebrate International Archives Day!
International Archives Day is celebrated around the world to help dispel the perception that archives are dark and dusty places that are difficult to access and are only of interest to historians.
This day allows the community to show their support for archives and it is a great way to learn more about us, the archival profession and the many fascinating and diverse holdings in our care.
Is there a researcher whose work you would like to follow? Who else is interested in the research papers relevant to your research? Could they be potential collaborators or competitors?
Attend this session to find out how your interests relate to specific career opportunities. NOTE: There is a student materials charge of $10 payable at the Centre for Career Action prior to the session. Once you have registered and paid, you will be given information on how to complete the Strong Interest Inventory online. The assessment must be completed at least 2 business days prior to the workshop.
Paraphrasing and summarizing are important skills to have when you’re working with source material. This workshop will teach you how to re-phrase and summarize other people’s ideas and research in your own words. It will help you learn how to use external material effectively and with academic integrity.
Through discussion and hands-on activities, this session will increase your understanding of the career decision-making process and put you in a better position to make appropriate career choices.
If you plan to attend this workshop, please register on the event web page.
