The World’s Challenge Challenge  Applications Open

Do you have a solution to a major global problem?

The World’s Challenge Challenge at the University of Waterloo is a competition where teams of three diverse students pick one of the United Nations’ Sustainability Development Goals, and propose a solution. Teams will be selected for interviews on February 14, based on a written application, and six teams will be selected to make a 5-7 minute presentation on March 2, proposing a solution to a panel of judges, with Q&A.

Game Dev in a Day

Game DIAD is a two-day hands-on workshop that takes you through one rotation in the iterative development cycle of a game and provides essential training to build a game from scratch, taking you from concept to a first prototype. This learning experience, designed for post-secondary school students from any background, discipline, faculty, or department will bring together 100 aspiring developers to the University of Waterloo Stratford Campus to learn how to design, develop, and test a digital game. Working in teams of 10, teams will participate in this learning jam and acquire the skills needed to take game ideas to a prototype.

Let’s join voices together for a Hymn Sing under the direction of Dr. Kenneth Nafziger. As part of the 2016-17 Bechtel Lectures in Anabaptist-Mennonite Studies, Nafziger will lead “Hymn Singing in Fair Weather and in Ill… and for pleasure".


Nafgziger is a choral conductor and hymnody expert with 39 years of teaching experience at Eastern Mennonite University. He was music editor of Hymnal: A Worship Book (1992) and was involved in numerous hymn and songbook collections of the Mennonite Church.
