Do you have a solution to a major global problem?
The World’s Challenge Challenge at the University of Waterloo is a competition where teams of three diverse students pick one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (also known as Global Goals), and propose a solution. Teams will be selected for interviews occurring on February 14, and six teams will be selected to make a 5-7 minute presentation on March 1, proposing a solution to a panel of judges, with Q&A.
Conrad Grebel University College’s Peace and Conflict Studies program (PACS) at the University of Waterloo was the first peace studies program in Canada, and has remained a leader in peace education for 40 years. With PACS’ innovative approach to learning, students can choose arts-based assignment options in many courses.
This conference has two major goals:
Encourage students and community members to become anti-racist organizers by increasing their confidence, knowledge and skills and by connecting them with existing organizers and organizations.
Sharpen the practice and analysis of existing organizers and organizations committed to challenging white supremacy by creating an opportunity to think about movement work together.

The 44th annual Great Northern Concrete Toboggan Race (GNCTR) is being held at the University of Waterloo. The UW Concrete Toboggan team has been working tirelessly to design and build the most innovative concrete toboggan ever!
We consider ourselves designers and technologists, datamongers and artists. Through collaboration, we pair the craft of design with feedback and data to deliver a pace and rhythm in each game session that immerses our audience and leaves them wanting more.
Speaker: Gurpreet Chana
Born in Etobicoke and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Gurpreet Chana "The Tabla Guy" is a mechanical engineering graduate from the University of Waterloo who now lives in and creates out of Toronto. His musical explorations stem from the diversity he experienced growing up in a pluralistic society. At a time where genres collided openly and playfully, he embraced the tabla as his means of being heard in those creative conversations.

This event is an opportunity to MAKE games, explore new game ideas, and interact with fellow game-lovers in an exciting and relaxed environment. Learn something, teach something, make something, and play something! The event is a community-based effort to increase the total knowledge, experience, and ideas available to community members.
