Energy Innovations: A Disruptive Force for a Better World?Export this event to calendar

Thursday, March 15, 2018 — 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM EDT

Affordable Energy for Humanity logoThe Royal Canadian Institute for Science organizes RCI Talks to engage the broader public in fascinating discussions on various topics from the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.

Two key challenges of the global energy system will be with us for the rest of this century: the threat of climate change and the requirement to provide clean, affordable energy to every person on the earth for their needs. That there is an urgent need for a global transition to a low carbon energy future is clearly evident: what is less obvious is recognition of the importance of access to affordable energy as a fundamental enabler of human betterment.

Professor Jatin Nathwani will highlight the emerging innovations that form the basis of a scientific, technological and social innovations needed to support new talent and business models for revolutionary change to deliver on the promise of a low carbon energy future with universal energy access.
