With its first year being a big success, we’re excited to bring ENVigorate back to the Faculty of Environment for its second year! The festival aims to bring students, staff and community members together in a learning experience that spans beyond your usual academic environment. The combination of food, music, workshops and presenters allows us to appreciate the rich community surrounding us.
The day will begin at 9 a.m. with workshops, including sprouting, photogramming, herbalism, dendrochronology, bike tube jewellery, DIY cleaning supplies, and more. Then there will be a break with lunch and speakers, before workshops continue through the afternoon. Throughout the afternoon the courtyard will be set up open mic style and starting at 4:30 p.m. we’ll end things off with food, drinks and an all-star Faculty concert.
Fourth year capstone projects will also have a chance to display their work in EV2 and community groups will be set up in the EV3 atrium. Rob de Loë’s photography exhibit titled “Little Creeks Matter: Photographs From Hanlon Creek” will be on display in the EV2 hallways by the SERS offices. The SWAP Shop will also be back, where you can bring in your clothing in exchange for someone else’s.
ENVigorate appreciates the support being provided by WESEF, the Faculty of Environment, Knowledge Integration, the School of Environment, Enterprise and Development, the School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability, and the School of Planning. Thanks also to everyone who has volunteered their time to make this year’s festival possible!
