Fundamentals for Writing your Thesis is a full-day workshop that will guide early-stage graduate students through some of the first phases of planning and writing a thesis or dissertation.
During interactive sessions throughout the day, the Writing and Communication Centre, the Library, the Office of Research Ethics, Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs, and other campus partners will offer sessions designed to provide resources, strategies, and information to make beginning your thesis or dissertation less daunting. This workshop day will cover topics such as selecting a research topic, structuring your thesis or dissertation, writing a literature review, conducting research with integrity and knowing when ethics clearance is necessary, and using strategies for finding and recording research sources.
This workshop is free for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. However, a $10.00 materials fee will be charged in the event of a late cancellation (cancellation that is not made 3 days or more before the workshop/event date), no show or incomplete attendance.
Registration is open from May 13th to 21st on Eventbrite.
