Geothermal Technologies in Canada: Future PathwaysExport this event to calendar

Wednesday, January 23, 2019 — 9:00 AM to Thursday, January 24, 2019 — 1:00 PM EST

This interactive workshop will explore current activity in all geothermal technologies being used or considered in Canada, and will generate a short synthesis outlining future pathways to greater adoption of this green energy source.

Topics of discussion will include include: high temperature steam-based systems, hot sedimentary fluids systems, enhanced geothermal systems in low permeability igneous and sedimentary rocks, and shallow, ground-source heat pump geothermal systems. These may be co-generation systems (e.g. heat use as well as power generation), coupled with other energy systems (heat storage from other sources), and novel applications or projects.

All are welcome! During the workshop researcher and student posters will be on display.

All are welcome to submit their work to Jessica, jessica.strickler@uwaterloo.ca
