Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a multi-disciplinary tool that is widely used across the architecture industry. Attend this 30-minute speed run session to learn why every map you’ve ever seen is wrong!

This presentation, with a question & answer session, will discuss the importance of geographic co-ordinate systems and map projection systems, and how they impact the messages conveyed through maps.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand what geographic co-ordinate systems and map projections are
  • Understand current map projection industry standards
  • Identify the appropriate map projection for your project

While the focus of this session is on the use of GIS in architecture, anyone interested in GIS is welcome to attend. No prior knowledge is required to participate.
