Health & Climate: Co-Creation

This is one of a three-part series exploring the question "How might climate change impact health and wellbeing", hosted in collaboration by the School of Public Health Sciences and GreenHouse social impact incubator.

At this session, you will hear from students about:

  • Some of the challenges identified in session 1
  • The health interventions
  • Solutions that they are considering

You will have the opportunity to provide:

  • Your own ideas
  • Insights
  • Share feedback
  • Brainstorm community-oriented solutions

People with knowledge, experience, and interest in the intersections of health and climate are encouraged to attend.

These sessions are open to the public. We hope to cultivate a diversity of perspectives from people who can share their insights and ideas on social prescribing and health challenges in Waterloo Region. As an attendee, you will interact with students in UW's Public Health Sciences program who are working towards proposing solutions on this topic in their capstone course.

Monday, September 30 | 2:30-4:30 p.m. | Problem Finding

At this session, you will engage with students and community members through small, world café-style discussions with the goal of better understanding what social prescribing is and how it might apply to health challenges in our community.

Monday, November 4 | 2:30-4:30 p.m. | Co-Creation

At this session, you will hear from students about some of the challenges identified in session 1 as well as the health interventions or solutions that they are considering. You will have the opportunity to provide your own ideas and insights, share feedback, and brainstorm community-oriented solutions.

Monday, November 25 | 2:30-4:30 p.m. | Demo Day

At our final session, students will be presenting their final solution ideas. This may take the format of presentations, prototypes, videos, policy briefs, etc. Join us to provide final feedback and build pathways for future implementation of these solutions.

All sessions will be hosted at United College (190 Westmount Road N) in GreenHouse (UTD 164). Parking will be provided, or you can find us a 10-minute walk from the University of Waterloo ION stop.
