The "I" in Diet: Selling you thinExport this event to calendar

Wednesday, February 5, 2014 — 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM EST

A talk by Dr. Sharon Roberts, Assistant Professor in Social Development Studies (in association with the Eating Disorder Foundation of Canada).

"Thin is a ubiquitous message in Western culture as a social construction of beauty and success. Phrases such as never being "too rich or too thin," a saying credited to Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor, have laid the foundation for much of popular culture in the 20th and 21st centuries," says Dr. Roberts.
