Knowledge Integration Seminar: Applied Knowledge Integration in industry: a case studyExport this event to calendar

Friday, September 16, 2016 — 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM EDT

Speaker: John Vieth

My talk will explore the realm of Knowledge Integration in the context of practice within high technology industry. Looking back on the many projects in my career I have realized that I may have been a student of Knowledge Integration even before Dr. Ed Jernigan so aptly named it. I will try to capture your attention exploring the challenges of design, implementation and production of products that customers want to buy, because they offer a solution to a real problem. With descriptive examples I will reveal the benefits of a broad diversity of knowledge versus deep specialization in the practice of product development. In conclusion, I hope my talk will inspire your study or enhance your appreciation of Knowledge Integration as a discipline.
