Discovering Alternative Support Methods for Students
This talk will explore what happened when my academic learning met my lived experience - the result being a personal and practical senior research project exploring alternative support systems for mental wellness. We'll explore how I got to the topic of mental wellness, what I found (and how I found it), and how it got me to where I am today.
1 in 5 people may struggle with mental illness, but 5 out of 5 people have mental wellness. We can do many things to maintain this wellness and we'll talk about general tips and advice for supporting a wellness-based lifestyle alongside specific resources available to students at the University of Waterloo.
