Really Banking Cool – How students are influencing the way we work

Disruption is everywhere with companies changing the way they do business to attract a new generation of consumers. This includes financial services companies and specifically, Canada’s big banks.  Find out how RBC is changing the way they approach business problems and disrupting themselves by harnessing the creative energy and innovative thinking of their student hires. It’s just one of the ways they are building the digitally enabled bank of the future.

Valérie Gélinas, Director, T&O Early Talent at RBC will speak to her feet on the ground experience discovering top talent and providing them opportunities that are directly influencing the way RBC solves problems. She will talk in detail about developing and launching RBC’s primary student innovation program, RBC Amplify, which puts select groups of summer students together to work autonomously in small teams, using design thinking and lean start up methodologies, to come up with solutions to current business problems put forward by leaders from across the organization. And while providing the students the skills and experience they need in today’s business environment is the primary goal, RBC is also using the power and energy of the students to infect the organization and change the way they do business.
