Knowledge Integration Seminar: Sustainability & Business Decisions in the Built EnvironmentExport this event to calendar

Friday, January 12, 2018 — 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM EST

Speaker: Joseph Meyer, Ameresco Canada

Almost all countries now agree on the targets we need to hit to minimize the damage of climate change. What does that look like at the organizational level? In this talk, we'll discuss our greenhouse gas reduction goals, and how we're going to get there. Focusing on the built environment, we'll explore the impact of individual business decisions on sustainability, and how to link them for win-wins.

Joseph MeyerJoe Meyer started his career in 2007 with a startup organization that helped homeowners minimize their energy use. He then moved on to create his own energy consulting business in the small commercial space.  He now works with the largest energy service provider in North America, Ameresco Canada, and spends his time helping large energy consumers like school boards, colleges, universities, and commercial businesses meet their greenhouse gas reduction goals.

With conflicting passions for nature and “building stuff”, Joe’s interests lie in maximizing the function of buildings, so they minimize the damage to, and even benefit, the natural world.
