Thursday, October 24, 2013 — 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM EDT

M. NourbeSe Philip is an un-embedded poet, essayist, novelist, playwright and former lawyer who lives in the space-time of the City of Toronto. She is a Guggenheim Fellow (USA) and the recipient of many awards including the Casa de las Americas prize (Cuba).

Her most recent work, Zong!, is a genre-breaking poem, which engages with the law, history and memory as they relate to the transatlantic slave trade.

This year's Reading Series at St Jerome's is on the theme of Literartistry,
showcasing literature's dance with other artistic media.

All readings are free and open to the public.

We gratefully acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts.
