2017 marks the ninth year that the University of Waterloo has come together for Mental Health Wellness Day. Although resources are available at Waterloo 365 days a year, we use this day to draw awareness to the services available on campus and to support our community members who struggle with their mental health.
Join us for the following events:
8:30 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. Resource Booth
Stop by the Resource Booth in the Atrium to learn more about the resources available to both students and employees.
12:00 P.M. Commencement of Events
Meet your fellow students and faculty members in the Atrium for a brief introduction to the Mental Health Wellness Day events.
12:10 P.M Walk for Mental Health
Join us on a walk around downtown Stratford. Wear an orange shirt to end stigma and show your support for individuals with mental health concerns. We'll leave together at 12:10 P.M. from the Stratford Campus Atrium.
12:15 P.M. – 1:00 P.M. St. John’s Therapy Dogs
We will have furry friends visiting from the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog program. Take a break from mid-term work and visit them in the Atrium on the first floor – pet, play and take your stresses away!
12:20 P.M. Guided Meditation
Linda Mackay will take you through a guided meditation to help you remove stress and allow you to find relaxing coping mechanisms for future days. Meet her at the stairs of the Atrium at 12:20 P.M. The session will run for approximately 20 minutes.
