There’s a global race to produce a vaccine that will be effective in protecting people from COVID-19. Right here at the University of Waterloo, Professor Roderick Slavcev and his team are working on a DNA-based option. Professor Slavcev will discuss his work, talk about why finding a vaccine is so important, and answer your questions about how COVID-19 will be managed moving forward.

Speaker: Roderick Slavcev, professor, School of Pharmacy 

Roderick SlavcevDr. Slavcev is a professor at the School of Pharmacy who is leading a project to develop a DNA-based, non-invasive COVID-19 vaccine. He is an expert in molecular biology, virology, and technology transfer. He is also a Director with the Science Innovation Hub and has founded numerous drug delivery research companies, some of which are supporting his vaccine development research.




Community talks will be held online using a video link that will be provided after registration.
