We are now registering students, faculty and staff for a variety of workshops hosted by Counselling and Psychological Services. These workshops range from stress reduction and relapse prevention to attaining helpful skills in time management.

Procrastination

An 8 week workshop starting Tuesday, May 27th at 2:00pm.

You will learn:

  • Various patterns
  • Your MBTI type
  • Cognitive factors
  • Underlying fears
  • Time management
  • To think differently

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

An 8 week workshop starting Tuesday, May 20th at 1:30pm.

Do you cycle into low mood and depression?

This skills-based group offers proven therapy that helps sustain recovery from depression and decrease risk of relapse

Mindfulness: A Stress Reduction Program…For Students

An 8 week workshop starting Wednesday, May 14 at 4:30pm.

Learn and practice the art and science of meditation, gentle yoga and body scanning to maximize personal, interpersonal, work and academic coping skills for greater emotional balance health and wellbeing.

Mindfulness Meditation For Students, Staff & Faculty

A 5 week program starting Wednesday, June 25th at 3:30pm.

If you have benefited from learning mindfulness meditation and would like continued guidance to deepen and develop your practice, this group is designed for you—If you have attended the following groups:

  • Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction or
  • Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy
  • Or have experience with Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention

An 8 week program starting Monday, June 2nd at 2:30pm.

Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention is an evidence based treatment that has been shown to be helpful for individuals who are currently in recovery for addictive behaviors.

Designed to help people:

  • Develop awareness of triggers and cravings how to respond and react to them
  • Learn how to tolerate discomfort and practice skills for challenging emotional and physical experiences
  • Engage a mindful approach towards yourself and your experiences and learn tools that support long-term recovery
