On the island of Bali, Indonesia there is a plethora of musical ensembles called gamelan, the local term for a set of instruments made primarily of bronze or bamboo.
Over the fall term, students and community members of the UWaterloo Gamelan and Grebel Community Gamelan dedicated themselves to learning and committing to memory melodies and rhythms of Balinese gamelan music. Join us in this unique opportunity to be immersed in the shimmering sounds of Bali.
If you would like to learn how to play these instruments yourself, there is a free concert workshop at Haggey Hall on November 25th at 3:00 p.m. If interested please register.
