If you haven’t explored the green spaces between the residences, Westmount Avenue, and Health Services in the Northwest corner of campus, you’re missing out. Women & non-binary faculty, post-docs, staff, and grad students are invited to a picnic (bring your own lunch) and a tour of a great lunchtime walking (or rolling or running) route.
Noon - Meet on Ring Road at the path to residences (across from PAC)
12:05 pm - Walk to picnic table and eat lunch
12:45 pm - Walk along path
1:00pm - End walk at the bridge to Health Services (HS)
Can't make it by 12:05? We'll leave chalk directions on the path for those arriving later!
The full walking route is about 1.3km, 500m of which is between the meeting spot on Ring Road and the picnic table, all along paved paths. There is no paved path to the picnic table, but it's within a few metres of the path. There is only one picnic table, and we will bring blankets for those able to sit on the ground. You're also welcome to bring your own chair/blanket/whatever.
W3 (Waterloo Women's Wednesdays) is a monthly gathering of women and non-binary grad students, post-docs, staff, and faculty that (usually) meets on the last Wednesday of each month. W3 events are sponsored by the Faculty Association and Staff Association and coordinated by a committee of faculty, staff, postdocs, and graduate students.
