water talks

As part of the Water Institute's WaterTalks lecture series, Bryan Brooks, Distinguished Professor in the Department of Environmental Science and Institute of Biomedical Studies; Director, Environmental Health Science at Baylor University, presents, "What are the Priority Research Needs for Environmental Quality and Environmental Public Health Practice?"

Identifying strategic research is necessary to advance science and engineering pursuits and to improve professional practice. In this presentation I highlight some of the common themes of relevance to water resources from the Global Horizon Scanning Project and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s UNCOVER-EH Initiative. I also introduce an ongoing effort, Needs for Onsite Wastewater Recycling Research (NOW-R2), which focuses on research and practice needs for onsite wastewater.
