We Are Here: The why and how of territorial acknowledgements (an orientation for faculty)Export this event to calendar

Thursday, October 17, 2019 — 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM EDT

Are you a new faculty member who's just moved to Waterloo Region? Or perhaps you have heard a territorial acknowledgement on campus and are unsure what it means. All faculty members are invited to an orientation to the University of Waterloo's location on Haudenosaunee, Anishnabeg and Attawandaron (Neutral) territory, what Indigenization is all about, and a discussion on the collective responsibilities of faculty members towards reconciliation.

This workshop is primarily aimed at non-Indigenous faculty new to the concept of Indigenization and/or local Indigenous history, but all faculty are welcome. It's run by members of FAUW's Indigenization Working Group who are settlers.

Lunch is included. Please register by October 9.
