The Waterloo Insitute for Sustainable Energy is pleased to host Umar Waqas, Director of Engineering Services at Energy+ for an interactive public lecture that welcomes individuals from all faculties to join the conversation.
The electricity sector is expected to undergo an unprecedented amount of change which has implications for utility shareholders, private markets, and end customers. This change is driven through technological improvements, cost reductions in alternative sources, and changing consumer preferences. The perspective from a Local Distribution Company looks at the opportunities this presents for shifting the conventional poles/wires business to a service organization that empowers customers to part-take in the sector and become involved in making sustainable decisions. The uncertainties that come with change are discussed to provide the audience an appreciation of the technical and regulatory challenges that impact decision making.
All are welcome, but seating is limited. Please register on Eventbrite.
