The 7th Annual Graduate Research Fair and Water Celebration co-hosted by the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University marks UN World Water Day, March 22nd.
Beginning in 2010, the Water Institute and the Laurier Institute for Water Science, along with their graduate student groups, Students of the Water Institute-Graduate Section (SWIGS) and Center for Cold Regions and Water Interdisciplinary Network of Students (CCRWINS), have worked with students, government, community groups, industry and NGOs to hold this annual Graduate Research Fair and Water Celebration.
This event is a celebration of water which showcases water research at both universities. This year it will be hosted at the University of Waterloo.

Call for Posters
Students - Enter a poster for the chance to win $150!
Poster awards of $150 each will be awarded to top ranked posters in six different categories. The deadline to submit a poster is March 1st, 2016. To register for a poster, please fill out the following form. You may reuse posters from other conferences. No abstract is necessary.
Call for Photos
Students - Enter a photo for the chance to win $50!
Photo contest awards of $50 each will be awarded to three different water-related categories:
- Working in Water
- Life in Water
All submitted photos will be displayed at the conference. The deadline to submit a photo is March 11th.
Submit photos to: email@example.com with the subject heading “WWD Photo – Last name First name” and title of photo. Limit 1 photo submission per person.
We invite industry partners, NGO’s, community groups, and government agencies to set up exhibits which provide opportunities for job recruitment. The conference aims to highlight the depth and breadth of local water research, provide networking opportunities between water researchers and practitioners, and encourages awareness of local and global water issues.

About Linda Gowman
Linda Gowman, Ph.D., P.Eng., is Chief Technology Officer at Trojan Technologies in London, Ontario. Gowman has been with Trojan in various senior roles leading research and engineering, including VP Science and Technology and VP Research. Her teams have been engaged in developing product innovations that have won numerous international awards in the water and wastewater treatment sectors. She enjoys the challenges and opportunities of bringing internal and external cross-functional teams together to provide innovative solutions to issues related to water, and believes that bringing people together with diversity in experience and approaches leads to the best outcomes. Gowman participates in various water-related organizations, and has participated on the boards of several.
