Currently, I’m a faculty member with the School of Public Health and Health Studies (SPHHS). Here I have the unique opportunity to combine my background in microbial pathogenesis and vaccine-preventable diseases to teach courses on the biomedical determinants of health. In prior academic positions, I had been a member of faculty senate, initiated a new faculty support group, participated in a peer lead pedagogy group and been involved with a research-writing group. As a member of FAUW, I look forward to incorporating past experiences into action-oriented resources for my colleagues, peers and others here at U Waterloo.
Throughout my academic journey, I’ve been fortunate to have lived and travelled throughout North America and have also spent time in Europe and Australia with aspirations to travel the far east. But no matter what, I always enjoyed coming home to Kitchener-Waterloo (where I was born & raised) and spending time at the family cottage on Lake Huron.
