The FAUW Spring General Meeting will be held Thursday, April 5 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in QNC 2502. Lunch will be provided.
General meetings are a big part of how we update members on the work we do—and how we hear from you about what we should be working on.
- Reports from the president, treasurer, chief negotiator, and committees
- The proposed budget for the 2018–19 fiscal year
- Election results!
- Constitution changes, including changes to the position of past president and Executive Committee and changing the name of the Status of Women & Equity Committee (to just "Equity Committee")
- Plus presentations and discussion on: teaching and hiring data, fall break, and changes in faculty representation on campus
We always end with approximately 30 minutes for questions and comments from members.
Download the full agenda package to review the minutes of the December 2017 meeting, reports from the Academic Freedom & Tenure, Equity, and Lecturers committees and Pension & Benefits rep, and the proposed constitution changes.
Lunch, prizes, and more
Lunch is provided. Options include vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and meat-covered pizza; samosas; fresh vegetables and hummus; and coffee, pop, and juice. There is a water fountain located directly across the hall.
Please bring your own water bottle, coffee mug, and plate to help us reduce waste—and maybe win some FAUW swag!
After the meeting, we invite you to stay and watch a livestream of the OCUFA 2018 Worldviews Lecture, "Free speech on campus: Challenges for minority rights and democratic values."
General meetings are open to all voting members of FAUW. Becoming a voting member is voluntary and involves no extra cost for regular faculty, so join today! Visit our membership page for more information.
