The Faculty Association (FAUW) held a Town Hall for lecturers on Wednesday December 7. Due to a scheduling conflict, and given that the Faculty of Mathematics has a large number of lecturers focused more on service than undergraduate teaching, we're holding a second session to make sure that the interests of this subset are not overlooked.
Part of the Gender and Equity Scholarship Series
Speaker: Madhur Anand (Waterloo Institute for Complexity & Innovation)
Madhur Anand, director of the Waterloo Institute for Complexity & Innovation, and professor at the University of Guelph School of Environmental Sciences, will give an informal talk on her experience in academia, highlighting the importance of international perspective, adaptive management of diverse goals, and creative approaches.
The Lecturers Committee invites all lecturers to attend a town hall meeting on December 7 from 12:30–2:00 in STC 0010.
Please come share your experiences and meet other lecturers from across campus.
Note: This event has been rescheduled so as not to conflict with the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women event at 10:30 am on December 6. We encourage you to attend the memorial on December 6, as well as the FAUW General Meeting at noon that day.
The FAUW Fall General Meeting will be held Tuesday, December 6 from 12:00 noon - 2:00pm in MC 4020. Lunch will be provided.
Official FAUW members have been emailed an agenda with supporting materials.
Membership is voluntary and involves no extra cost for regular faculty. Visit our membership page for more information.
Members of the Faculty Association Board of Directors will be at the School of Architecture campus in downtown Cambridge on December 1 to meet with faculty members.
Please join us in room 1101 between 12:30 and 1:30 for coffee and a snack, to get to know your faculty representatives, and to ask any questions you have of board members and FAUW staff.
