Wednesday, October 30, 2013 — 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM EDT
Join us at the W3 October meeting, where we honour staff and faculty who stand out for their successes at, and contributions to, uWaterloo. Our panel of trailblazers will tell stories and take questions about their experiences.

As usual, we’ll start with drinks and an informal chat, and move on to the panel discussion and questions.

Panel of Trailblazers

Jean Andrey
Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Professor of Geography and Environmental Management. Jean researches weather and climate change as it impacts transportation, and has won a regional award for excellence in teaching.

Peggy Jarvie
Executive Director of Cooperative Education & Career Action. Moving on from a successful career at Sun Life, Peggy's leadership of the co-op department has elevated uWaterloo's stature internationally.

Beth Weckman
Professor of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering. As one of few women in her faculty, Beth advanced the research literature on fire behaviour, while persuading the Powers that Be of the logic of turning off the tenure clock during parental leave.

Diana Parry
Associate Professor of Recreation and Leisure Studies. Diana has led uWaterloo's Status of Women & Equity Committee as it makes measurable improvements to policies and resources for caregivers, while researching women's health experiences from a feminist perspective.
