Statement on 2024 salary negotiations
Salary negotiations are now concluded, with the settlement outlined below. We will be hosting a Town Hall in May to discuss further details and next steps. The purpose of this communication is to give a quick overview of the settlement, some context of how it was reached, and important considerations for determining next steps for FAUW in the wake of this round of negotiations.
Call for nominations: Equity & Inclusivity Award
The FAUW Equity Committee is currently seeking nominations for the 2024 Equity & Inclusivity Award.
Inaugurated in 2012, the Equity & Inclusivity Award recognizes a member, group, or affiliate of the University of Waterloo community. The award is meant to further support individuals or groups who have demonstrated an exemplary commitment to improving equity, inclusivity, and/or diversity at University of Waterloo.
Remembering Anne Innis Dagg
Anne Innis Dagg, a groundbreaking Canadian zoologist, feminist, and environmentalist, passed away on April 1, 2024. Anne received her PhD in animal behaviour from the University of Waterloo in 1967 and was affiliate with the Independent Studies program.

Workshop: Tenure-track faculty reappointment and promotion
FAUW's Academic Freedom and Tenure Committee Chair, Lori Curtis, will host an in-person workshop on 'Applying for Tenure', for tenure track faculty who are, or soon will be, going through the tenure process. A presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.
